Heart Healthy Berrylicious Salad
This light and delicious berry salad is part of The Untox Cleanse. It’s so yummy that I’ve incorporated it into my normal daily routine. There’s so much goodness packed into this sweet, morning bowl of berries! You can use any organic berries you like. I used strawberries and blackberries, and sometimes I use blueberries and raspberries. Berries help fight inflammation, are high in antioxidants and fiber and may help fight cancer. The other key ingredient in this tart Berrylicious Salad is flax! Flax has many beneficial nutrients that can help fight disease and keep your body healthy!
Flax is very rich in fiber, may improve cholesterol levels, is a good source of protein and is very high in Omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 is used in the body to reduce inflammation, help lower cholesterol and risk of heart disease.
I use Viva Naturals organic flaxseed. It has a light, nutty flavor and can be added to salads, smoothies or even mixed into seasonings! I try to consume 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed per day. If you’d like to dress up your Berrylicious Salad even more, you can add a sprinkle of monk fruit sugar free sweetener and unsweetened coconut flakes!
