Watermelon + Fennel Frond Salad

Here’s my new fav go to essential Saturated Skin Salad recipe! You’ll be happy to know that the ingredients in this salad will do just that: saturate and hydrate your skin with essential vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals. There’s so many benefits + good stuff in this bowl that will literally make you glow from the inside out.

My Saturated Skin Salad recipe is anti-inflammatory and healing to the skin (the largest organ in your body). This salad is loaded with omega-3 essential fatty acids from flax oil, hemp seeds, walnuts + avocados! Omega-3 fats strengthen the membranes of your skin cells which in turn lock in moisture and nutrients that keep it plump, glowing and also block toxins that can damage the cells (like free radicals).

Hemp seeds have also been found to help those with eczema. The rich fatty acids relieve dry, itchy skin leaving a softer + smoother complexion. This beauty bowl will help boost hydration levels, increase your ability to fight disease and skin enemies like free radicals (with phytochemicals like chlorophyll). When your skin becomes dry, it is more likely to become susceptible to wrinkles, and that’s why we have to stay hydrated with the right nutrients every day to protect it.

Avocados are also super high in vitamin E + C which both help to hydrate + brighten the skin. Lemon juice as most of us know, is very high in vitamin C. We get double the punch here! Another friend of vitamin C is dark leafy greens. They are also high in vitamin A which helps combat acne by slowing the production of sebum. Green leafy veggies contain folate, a vital nutrient for DNA repair, which also helps produce and maintain healthy new cells! Truth is, green leafy vegetables are loaded with beauty benefits like beta-carotene for example. Beta-carotene is known for its amazing ability to repair and renew the skin. Studies have shown that it may also help protect against sun damage.

There’s so much crunchy goodness here what’s not to love? Check out the recipe below. Happy hydrating!
